Cove Forge Behavioral Health offers leading residential addiction treatment programs for individuals suffering from the effects of addiction. We offer residential care at our main campus in Williamsburg, PA.
Program Overview
Introduction to our residential treatment program
At Cove Forge Behavioral Health System, located in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania, our Inpatient Non-Hospital Rehabilitation Program is our most intensive level of treatment. This rehabilitation program at our treatment center is a coed treatment option for adults, ages 18 and older, who have a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency. This program emphasizes care for individuals who have either never been in treatment or who previously were in treatment but did not gain an understanding of the disease of addiction. Individuals in the rehabilitation program typically stay with us for two to four weeks but, just as with other elements of treatment at Cove Forge, the actual length of stay is primarily determined according to each individual’s needs.
Therapies & Interventions
Therapies and interventions offered during residential treatment at Cove Forge Behavioral Health
Individuals in the rehabilitation program at our treatment center can benefit from a number of different interventions, such as:
Medication management: Physicians, physician assistants, and nurses are available to provide medication monitoring services for individuals in the rehabilitation program whose treatment plans include medication management. Visits with a psychiatrist can also be scheduled on an as-needed basis.
Individual therapy: Those in the rehabilitation program at our treatment center will meet with their primary counselor for 30-minute sessions at least once per week, and a psychologist is available on-campus once per week. Individual therapy provides an opportunity for individuals in the rehabilitation program to process their successes and setbacks, receive support, and discuss material that they may not be comfortable discussing during groups.
Group therapy: Groups are a core component of the rehab program at Cove Forge. They provide an opportunity for individuals to build relationships, support and be supported by each other, and practice skills that they have been learning during treatment. Groups at our Williamsburg-based treatment center are based on a number of therapeutic models, such as:
- Reality Therapy/Choice Therapy
- Client-Centered Supportive Therapy
- Rational-Emotive Therapy
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
- Family Interactional Model
- Ego Psychology
- Disease Concept Model
- 12-Step Recovery Model

- Community meetings
- Focus groups
- Chemical dependency groups
- Diagnosis-specific mental health groups, including groups for managing anxiety and depression
- Gratitude groups

- 12-Step meetings
- Real Talk
- Life Skills
Group topics can include:
- Continuing care
- Relapse prevention
- Continuing education
- Stress management
- 12-Step study
- Post-acute withdrawal education
Family therapy: Because chemical dependency can affect entire families, individuals in the rehabilitation program at our treatment center are able to schedule family therapy sessions on an as-needed basis (please note that special permission is required for children under age 12). These family therapy sessions, which are conducted by counselors, give family members a chance to process issues such as codependency and being an adult child of an alcoholic. In addition, counselors in the rehabilitation program also maintain communication with family members to provide updates while a loved one is in treatment, provided that the individual grants permission to do so.
Experiential therapy: In addition to traditional individual, group, and family therapies, individuals in the rehabilitation program can take advantage of experiential therapy opportunities, such as:
- Music group
- Spirituality group
- Bible study
- Exercise room
- Daily activities
